Is Kingdoms of Death Clean? Profanity and Content Guide for the Audiobook

I picked this up already knowing Christopher Ruocchio doesn't flinch. This is book six in the Sun Eater series, and by this point Hadrian Marlowe has been through enough that the story earns its weight. The good news is that most of what gets filtered here is violence, and almost none of it feels gratuitous for its own sake. It's a war novel, more or less, and the battlefield sequences land hard. You're looking at roughly 45 minutes of violent content spread across 167 segments, with the density spiking noticeably around Chapters 42 and 43. I'd call those two chapters the heart of why this one sits in the Moderate bucket rather than a lighter rating. Chapter 43 alone carries 35 tagged segments, so if you're listening with kids in the car, that stretch is going to work your filters hard. The sexual content is lighter than earlier books in the series, about eight minutes in total with one severe scene, and the profanity is manageable across 22 hours. There are 16 severe slur segments that are human-reviewed and cleanly tagged, so those won't sneak through on even a moderate filter setting. My recommendation: if you've made it this far in the series, you already know what you signed up for, and the filters handle it well enough that you can finish the book without losing the story's momentum. Turn violence filtering to moderate, catch the sexual content at the same level, and you'll get the original, cleaned up. Listeners newer to Ruocchio should start earlier in the series first.
