Is A Court of Frost and Starlight Clean? Profanity and Content Guide for the Audiobook

Verdict
Light

A light touch of filterable content. Most categories are either absent or barely present.

6h 24m audiobook, 100 filtered segments, 1.5% of the runtime gets skipped at full strength.

I picked this up expecting a breezy holiday interlude in the ACOTAR world, and that's mostly what it is. At just over six hours, this is the shortest entry in the series, and the filterable content reflects that. Under six minutes total across the whole runtime is genuinely light for a Sarah J. Maas book, and if you've already read or listened to the mainline trilogy, you know how rare that sentence is. The profanity count is the busiest category, but the bulk of it sits in the mild-to-moderate range, scattered across the book rather than clustered into problem stretches. Chapter 2 is the one place where things stack up a bit, with seventeen tagged segments hitting close together, so if you're listening with someone sensitive, that's the chapter to watch. The sexual content is the bigger conversation. Seven segments doesn't sound like much, but two of them are severe, and they land in Chapter 19, adding up to nearly a minute of the most significant material in the book. That's the one chapter I'd call out by name if you're filtering for a younger teen. Run profanity and sexual content filters together, and you'll lose maybe four minutes of story. The same book, same narrator, same story, just cleaned up in the places that actually need it. This one is genuinely clean enough to listen with older kids who are already fans of the series, with those two filters active. If you're new to Maas and worried about content, this novella is honestly one of the better entry points to test your comfort level before committing to the longer books.
